Qatar Announces Summer Timings for Public Schools

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar has officially unveiled the summer timetable for all public schools across the nation. Announced on April 27, 2026, the new schedule is set to take effect starting Sunday, May 3, and will remain in place until June 3, 2026. This adjustment aims to align school operations with the warmer weather conditions typical of the region during this period, ensuring a comfortable environment for students and staff alike.

Under the new regulations, Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten classes will operate from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday. Primary stage students will have slightly extended hours, attending school from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm on the same days. The Preparatory stage follows a similar start time of 7:00 am daily, but dismissal times vary slightly depending on the day of the week; students will finish at 12:45 pm from Sunday to Wednesday, with an earlier dismissal at 12:30 pm on Thursdays. Secondary stage students will attend from 7:00 am to 12:45 pm, Sunday through Thursday, allowing for a consistent end-of-day routine across the week.

Administrative and teaching staff in government schools will also adhere to adjusted working hours during this interim period. Their schedule is set from 7:00 am to 1:15 pm, Sunday through Thursday, providing a brief extension beyond student dismissal times to allow for necessary administrative duties and lesson preparations. These coordinated timings ensure that the transition into the summer break is smooth and that all educational activities conclude efficiently before the full onset of the summer vacation.
