Darb Al Saai Events Cancelled Due to Heavy Rain

Organisers of Qatar’s National Day celebrations have cancelled the Darb Al Saai events scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2025, after heavy rain and thunderstorms impacted much of the country, including the capital, Doha, the Ministry of Culture announced. 

The decision was taken to ensure the safety of visitors and participants amid adverse weather conditions that made outdoor cultural and heritage activities unsafe. The cancellation affects the planned gatherings at the popular Darb Al Saai venue in Umm Salal, which had been hosting festivities as part of National Day celebrations under the theme promoting Qatar’s rich cultural heritage. 

Heavy rain and thunder swept across several areas, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures for public safety. With the weather system expected to continue affecting parts of the country, the Ministry reiterated that protecting attendees remains a top priority in light of the challenging conditions. 

The cancellation marks a disruption to what had been a series of cultural showcases, including traditional performances and heritage displays that draw both residents and visitors during this national celebration period.
