Burgundy iPhone 18? Leak Suggests Apple’s Going for a Bolder Look

Apple isn’t slowing down after the iPhone 17’s sleek upgrades. The iPhone 18 lineup is already stirring excitement, with whispers of under-display Face ID, a transparent back, and even a delay for the standard model. The next-generation phones are expected to drop in late 2026, but some might not arrive until 2027.

Possible Release Timeline

According to a report from ETNews, the iPhone 18 Pro models and the rumored iPhone Fold are on track for a September 2026 launch, while the base iPhone 18 and a possible iPhone 18e could arrive later — around spring 2027.
It’s speculated that Apple might be nudging buyers toward the pricier Pro lineup with this move. As for pricing, analysts predict that Apple will likely keep the same starting prices as the iPhone 17 series: $799 for the base model and $1,099 for the Pro, avoiding back-to-back price hikes.

Sleeker, Smarter, and More Stylish

Design-wise, Apple may not reinvent the wheel but could still polish its look. Rumours point to a transparent rear glass for the iPhone 18 Pro — a futuristic twist. Display sizes are expected to stay the same, with the Pro Max still rocking the 6.9-inch screen.
But the real showstopper? Apple could finally hide Face ID under the screen, ditching the Dynamic Island for a single punch-hole camera. Oh, and we might see bold new colours like brown, purple, and burgundy join the lineup.

Camera Upgrades on the Way

Apple is reportedly boosting its selfie game, upgrading to a 24MP front camera across most models — a step up from the iPhone 17’s 18MP. The Pro versions may also feature a variable aperture system for more control in tricky lighting. Plus, Apple’s new Camera Control button might get a simpler (and cheaper) redesign while keeping its pressure-sensitive feel.
