Just hours after US President Donald Trump announced that a peace deal had been reached between Hamas and Israel, Gaza’s civil defence agency reported multiple airstrikes across the territory on Thursday.

According to Gaza civil defence official Mohammed Al-Mughayyir, “a series of intense airstrikes” hit parts of northern Gaza, particularly around Gaza City, even after the ceasefire framework was made public.

What the Agreement Includes

Under the proposed deal, Hamas stated that hostages and Palestinian prisoners would be exchanged within 72 hours of the ceasefire taking effect.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he would convene his government on Thursday to approve the agreement, saying, “With God’s help, we will bring them all home,” referring to the hostages held by Hamas.
