The futuristic project has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The bridge will be 380 metres long and 60 metres tall, spanning an area of 3,422 square metres.
Situated on the shores of Dubai Creek, it has a green environment as well as multi-level lanes for cycling and running, with stunning panoramic views of old and new Dubai.
Work on the project will be completed by the RTA, and while the official launch dates have not yet been announced we're hoping to hear more soon.
It comes amid a raft of exciting announcements by the Dubai Government today, including a new public hire scheme with 3,500 bicycles across the city.
There are also plans for new promenades in Sheikh Zayed Road, Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah Beach – including a huge floating island project with green and sandy hills as well as public facilities and retail spaces.
