Flu season is here, and Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) wants you ready. Starting September 17, free influenza vaccines are available at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) centers, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and more than 50 private and semi-government clinics across the country.
Why It Matters
The flu isn’t just “a bad cold.” It can cause pneumonia, worsen chronic diseases, and in severe cases, lead to disability or even death. Since the virus mutates every year, getting your annual jab is the safest way to stay protected.

Who Should Get It First
The campaign especially urges high-risk groups to roll up their sleeves:
-
People with chronic conditions (like diabetes, asthma, or heart issues)
-
Children aged 6 months to 5 years
-
Seniors over 60
-
Pregnant women
-
Healthcare workers
Still, MoPH says everyone benefits from getting vaccinated to keep the wider community safe.
Where to Get Vaccinated
You can grab your free flu shot at all PHCC centers, HMC, facilities linked to the Ministries of Interior and Defence, QatarEnergy, and private hospitals. Over 50 private clinics are also onboard, so options are plenty.
