In the final match of the 2023 Qatar Cup against Al Sadd in Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Al Duhail scored two goals and became the Qatar Cup champions for 2023.

The first half of the match was very intense with no goals, but with four shots on target.
However, in the second half, things started to change and the game started to heat up when Al Duhail's Michael Olunga took home a Sassi assist. The second goal was scored by Sassi himself when he dribbled the ball past the last man standing one vs. one against the goalkeeper before he converted.
These two goals secured the 2023 Qatar Cup trophy for Al Duhail.
