Working Hours Revealed for Service Departments on Qatar National Sports Day 2026

Authorities announce service schedule as Qatar prepares for nationwide National Sports Day celebrations.

As the State of Qatar gears up for National Sports Day 2026 on Tuesday, February 10, government authorities have released the official working hours for key service departments during the holiday.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed that several of its essential service departments will operate on adjusted schedules to balance public service continuity with the spirit of the national celebration. Departments handling passports, nationality and travel documents and criminal evidence and fingerprint services will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the day.

Additionally, select traffic departments, including the Vehicle Registration, Violations, Technical Inspection and Number Plate Workshop, will remain open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support motorists and road users during the National Sports Day festivities.

Meanwhile, security-oriented departments and traffic investigation units will remain fully operational 24 hours on February 10 to ensure public safety and uninterrupted emergency response services throughout the holiday.

Celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of February, National Sports Day is a public holiday across Qatar that promotes physical activity and community well-being, with thousands of residents and visitors participating in sporting events and outdoor activities across the country.

In related announcements, the Qatar Central Bank has declared a holiday for financial institutions in observance of National Sports Day, with operations resuming on Wednesday, February 11.

Residents are encouraged to check specific department schedules ahead of time, as some services may vary or be limited due to the holiday.
