Al Rayyan has cemented its status as a powerhouse in Qatari handball, securing its fifth H.H. The Amir Handball Cup title in club history. In a tightly contested final held today at Duhail Arena, the team defeated rivals Al Arabi with a score of 28–26.
The victory marks a significant milestone for the club, adding another chapter to its legacy of excellence in the sport. The 2025–2026 season finale saw intense action from both sides, but Al Rayyan managed to hold off Al Arabi's late-game pressure to cross the finish line with the two-point margin.
Following the final whistle, the awards ceremony took place on the court. H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, presided over the event. He personally presented the championship trophy and gold medals to the victorious Al Rayyan squad.
The players of Al Arabi, who put up a valiant fight throughout the tournament, were awarded silver medals in recognition of their runner-up finish.
The win not only brings prestige to Al Rayyan but also highlights the competitive depth of the Qatari handball league, where traditional rivals continue to push each other to higher levels of performance. With this fifth title, Al Rayyan joins an elite group of clubs in the country's handball history, further solidifying their dominance in the domestic scene.
