Timeless Beauty! Aishwarya Rai Stuns With Second Cannes Look

 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan captivated audiences at the Cannes Film Festival with her second red carpet appearance on Thursday, May 22.

Dressed in a custom black velvet gown by renowned Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, she exuded timeless elegance reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour.

The 'Heiress of Clam' gown was hand-embroidered with an abstract of the cosmos in silver, gold, charcoal, and black, which were accentuated by micro glass crystals to capture and reflect light. 

The ensemble featured a dramatic Banarasi brocade cape inscribed with a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita: "You have a right to perform your actions, but not to the fruits of those actions.

Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction." This shloka emphasized her cultural roots and spiritual depth, seamlessly blending Indian heritage with global fashion.

Complementing her attire, Aishwarya opted for bold red lips and wavy hair, marking a departure from her usual straight hairstyle, enhancing the Old Hollywood glam she opted for.

The day before, she walked the red carpet in a very traditional Indian look by Manish Malhotra. 

Other than Rai-Bachchan, Bollywood's Janhvi Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hydari are also at Cannes this year. Kapoor is at the film festival for her film 'Homebound', which premiered in the Un Certain Regard category.
