Teaser Out for Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's 'Tere Ishk Mein'

The teaser for Tere Ishk Mein, the upcoming film uniting Dhanush and Kriti Sanon under the direction of Aanand L Rai, has ignited a wave of reactions — and not all of them favorable.

With prior collaborations like Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re achieving cult status, fans had high hopes for this new venture. The teaser’s release, though visually engaging in parts, seems to have stirred more criticism than celebration across social media.

From its opening moments, the teaser seeks to build intrigue. We see Kriti Sanon preparing for a wedding event — presumably her marriage ritual — in a traditional household setting. The atmosphere shifts when Dhanush enters, battered and intense, uttering lines about fetching “Ganga jal” (holy water) for her, seemingly to cleanse past sins.

A significant moment shows him pouring water on Kriti’s face, signaling ritualistic symbolism or emotional overload. Another striking visual: Dhanush, tied by ropes, smiling menacingly on a rickshaw, evoking discomfort even as romance flickers in between.

Yet, despite those arresting frames, the teaser has left many fans underwhelmed — and vocal. One Redditor quipped “ye toh Ranjhana part 2 lag raha hai, riksha bhi dikha dia,” drawing direct parallels to Raanjhanaa’s signature visuals.

Others dismissed its emotional punch, calling the final dialogue “cringe” or too reminiscent of obsessive-lover tropes.

Perhaps the sharpest criticism came when someone coined the teaser’s tone as “Male Arjun Reddy, Female Kabir Singh,” referencing the intense romantic flaws portrayed in those films.

Some online voices insisted that it’s time to move on from romanticizing toxic attachments — they see the teaser as obsolete in its narrative framing.

Still, the chemistry between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon draws attention. Even skeptics concede that in certain frames their intensity is hard to ignore. The question is whether that spark can transcend the critiques and deliver a compelling story beyond aesthetics.

Meanwhile, anticipation builds: Tere Ishk Mein is slated for theatrical release on November 28. Whether the film will address or defy the backlash sparked by its teaser remains to be seen, but for now, the conversation firmly lies in the balance between fan expectations, narrative tropes, and cinematic potential.
