The Doha Film Festival 2026 has officially opened submissions for short films starting 10 May 2026. Filmmakers are invited to submit original works across three categories: Made in Qatar, International Short Film Competition, and Ajyal Film Competition (shorts only).
The festival seeks short films with a clear creative vision, including narrative, documentary, and experimental genres. All entries must comply with the festival’s rules and regulations. Selected films may be showcased in the official programme and considered for jury awards.
Key submission deadlines are:
- 1 August 2026 for International Short Film and Ajyal Short Film Competitions
