Bollywood's beloved superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan made a heartwarming appearance at the launch event of their son Aryan Khan’s Netflix directorial debut, The Bads of Bollywood.
Held in Mumbai on August 20, 2025, the launch saw the proud parents standing firmly by their son as he took a bold step into filmmaking.
Aryan opened the evening with remarkable humility and humor, bowing to the audience and saying, “If something goes wrong, please forgive me. This is my first time.” He candidly shared his nervousness about addressing the audience for the first time and joked about relying on his father as a backup if his speech failed.
Shah Rukh Khan introduced Aryan with emotion and wit. He recalled his initial reaction to his son’s edgy show idea, "I thought he might upload Mannat’s CCTV footage on YouTube!” he joked, referencing his iconic Mumbai residence. He added that once he caught on to the tone and vision, he was completely drawn in, praising the cast for their dynamic performances and “magic onscreen.”
The show’s ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, and Sahher Bambba, earned praise from SRK for their “powerful and impactful” performances. Actor Bobby Deol, reflecting on his long friendship with Shah Rukh, described the evening as surreal, he’s seen Aryan grow up from a boy to a confident filmmaker ready to “conquer the world.”
Directed, written, and produced by Aryan with support from Red Chillies Entertainment and Gauri Khan, The Bads of Bollywood explores the gritty, chaotic undercurrents of the Hindi film industry.
The Netflix series, which features cameos by Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, and a compelling cast including Bobby Deol, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, and Raghav Juyal, is set to premiere on September 18, with a special preview already unveiled.
