Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, through his charitable arm the Being Human Foundation, has stepped up to support flood-ravaged regions of Punjab.
In response to devastating monsoon floods, the foundation has dispatched five rescue boats to assist in urgent relief efforts, providing critical aid to stranded residents.
Of the five boats, three are already in active use, undertaking rescue missions, delivering food supplies, and helping volunteers reach areas cut off by the floodwaters. The remaining two vessels were formally handed over at the Ferozepur border, expanding the foundation’s logistical outreach.
Recognizing the long-term impact of the disaster, Salman’s foundation also announced plans to adopt flood-affected villages near the border town of Husainiwala. This move underscores a sustained commitment to rehabilitation, extending beyond immediate rescue to community rebuilding.
In his trademark candid style, Salman addressed the crisis on the reality TV show Bigg Boss 19’s Weekend Ka Vaar, urging collective action: “We are doing as much as we can. We have contributed to the relief fund. Even famous singers from Punjab are helping in every way they can, keeping their rivalries aside.”
The flood crisis has galvanized the entertainment community. In addition to Salman, several Bollywood and Punjabi celebrities have rallied behind the relief campaign—Sonu Sood launched a helpline, Diljit Dosanjh adopted ten villages, Ammy Virk extended support to rebuild 200 homes, and others like Sonam Bajwa, Gippy Grewal, Satinder Sartaaj, and Karan Aujla actively participated.
This collective response reflects a broader culture of solidarity and compassion. Amid one of the worst flooding events in decades, the intervention from Salman Khan and his peers provides a vital lifeline for affected communities—offering rescue, relief, and hope for rehabilitation during a time of profound distress.
