'Saiyaara' Becomes Highest-Grossing Bollywood Film of 2025 Overseas

Mohit Suri’s romantic musical drama Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has achieved a remarkable box office milestone abroad, surpassing Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava to become Bollywood’s highest‑grossing film overseas in 2025, with an estimated ₹94 crore earned in just 12 days of release.

Released on 18 July 2025, Saiyaara rapidly gained momentum globally with strong love‑story appeal, leaving behind other big Indian titles such as Housefull 5 (₹70.25 cr), Sitaare Zameen Par (₹66.75 cr), and Murder Mubarak (₹54 cr) in overseas haul rankings.

The film’s success also places it above Malayalam stars’ international performers like Thudarum (₹93.8 cr), though still trailing only Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan (₹124.5 cr) among Indian films abroad.

Beyond international records, Saiyaara delivered an exceptional global tally—crossing ₹400 crore worldwide within 11–12 days of release, making it only the second Indian film in 2025 to reach that mark after Chhaava.

Industry trackers report the film’s worldwide gross at about ₹413 crore by day 12, with domestic collections around ₹320 crore and overseas figures nearing ₹94 crore.

Within India, Saiyaara maintained extraordinary momentum—collecting over ₹172.75 crore in its first week, climbing to ₹270.75 crore by day 12, and surpassing marquee titles like Dunki and Singham Again to become the 26th highest‑grossing Hindi film ever.

Notably, Saiyaara achieved global resonance despite its lead actors opting out of promotions or interviews, a strategy seldom embraced under Yash Raj Films’ banner.

With upcoming releases like Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 scheduled for early August, Saiyaara is at a critical juncture—its continued overseas lead and room for further global growth may shape Bollywood’s next big trend this summer.
