Palestinian Poet Mosab Abu Toha Wins Pulitzer Prize

Palestinian poet and writer from Gaza, Mosab Abu Toha, won the Pulitzer Prize for his essays in the New Yorker on Monday, May 5.

The Pulitzer committee praised Abu Toha's essays for "combining deep reporting with the intimacy of memoir to convey the Palestinian experience of more than a year-and-a-half of war with Israel.”
Abu Toha has published two award-winning poetry collections, including Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear: Poems from Gaza (2022) and Forest of Noise (2024).
Abu Toha is also a scholar and librarian who has founded the Edward Said Library in Gaza, which is the only English-language library in the enclave.
