Lahore Qalandars Clinch Third PSL Title

In a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lahore Qalandars secured their third championship by defeating Quetta Gladiators by six wickets at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, May 25.

The Qalandars achieved a record-breaking chase of 202 runs, marking the highest successful pursuit in PSL final history.

The match's narrative was dramatically influenced by Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who, after playing a Test match in England, arrived at the stadium just ten minutes before the toss. Despite the tight schedule, Raza contributed significantly by taking a key wicket and scoring the winning runs, including a decisive six and four in the final over.

Kusal Perera was instrumental in the chase, earning the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 62 runs. His partnership with Raza added an unbeaten 59 runs in the last 20 balls, steering Lahore to victory with one ball to spare.

Quetta Gladiators, having topped the group stage, posted a formidable total of 201/9, with Hasan Nawaz scoring 76 runs. However, Lahore's strategic gameplay and resilience in the knockout stages culminated in this historic win.

This victory marks Lahore Qalandars' third PSL title in four years, solidifying their status as one of the league's most successful franchises. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, who also claimed three wickets in the final, expressed pride in the team's performance and resilience throughout the tournament.
