The much-anticipated trailer for Sarzameen, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan, Kajol, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was officially released on Friday, July 4.

What’s the buzz?

The trailer opens with Prithviraj delivering a haunting voice‑over: “Some wounds do not heal until you forget the memories related to them,” which immediately sets a dark, emotional tone.

Saif Ali Khan’s son appears bruised and battle-worn, clad in military fatigues, exuding raw intensity. Some media outlets wrote that Ibrahim looks “not so nadaan,” stepping away from his earlier “chocolate‑boy” image.

The trailer then reveals the clash between Prithviraj (an army officer) and Ibrahim’s Harman (his son), which seems to be the main focus of the film. Kajol appears as the emotional bridge — a mother caught between patriotism and family loyalty.

However, the trailer implies Harman may have turned rogue, perhaps even an imposter from the other side. Prithviraj’s character questions, “Who are you? I know you are not Harman”.

While fans praise Kajol and Prithviraj’s commanding presence, others question the narrative, calling it “Mission Kashmir 2.0” due to thematic similarities.

Kayoze Irani, son of Boman Irani, has directed the film, marking his debut in feature films, following Ajeeb Daastaans. The film has been produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is scheduled to release on July 25, 2025, streaming exclusively on JioHotstar.

The trailer of Sarzameen effectively builds anticipation — it blends emotional family drama with nationalistic fervor and psychological mystery. Ibrahim Ali Khan reveals a brooding, dangerous side, while Kajol and Prithviraj bring gravitas to a story teetering between love and duty.

With its July 25 Hotstar premiere nearing, expectations are soaring. Whether it breaks the mold or leans into familiar tropes, Sarzameen is setting itself up as one of the summer’s most stirring OTT offerings.
