Foreigners Must Create E-Arrival Card Before Traveling to India

Foreign nationals planning to travel to India are now required to complete a new E-Arrival Card before their journey, following a recent advisory issued by the Indian government.

This digital entry form is intended to facilitate faster immigration procedures at Indian airports, helping visitors avoid delays upon arrival.

According to the advisory, all non-Indian citizens — including tourists, business travelers, and other international guests — must fill out this form online up to 72 hours prior to departure.

The requirement applies regardless of the traveler’s airline or country of origin.

The E-Arrival Card collects key travel and health information from passengers in advance, supporting India’s efforts to streamline airport operations while maintaining security and efficiency.

Airlines flying between India and foreign nations, such as Oman Air (which serves routes between Muscat and several Indian cities), have already begun issuing reminders to passengers to complete the e-form in time.

Travelers are strongly encouraged to check India’s official government portals or consular advisories for any additional entry requirements and updates ahead of their departure. Completing the E-Arrival Card in advance will help ensure a smoother, less stressful entry experience at Indian airports.
