Dhadak 2 Trailer: Triptii and Siddhant are Set to Win Hearts

Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced under Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, ‘Dhadak 2’ stars Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles.

The official trailer was unveiled on July 11, 2025, setting Bollywood abuzz ahead of its August 1 theatrical release.

The trailer begins with Siddhant’s character Neelesh asking Vidhi (Triptii), “Tum mujhse pyaar karti ho na? Toh mujhse door raho” (If you love me, you will stay away from me).

She replies defiantly: “Kyu door rahu?” (Why should I keep away?) Their chemistry promises emotional depth from the outset.

As college students, they fall deeply in love, but Neelesh’s lower-caste identity leads to systemic prejudice, challenging both protagonists to fight for their relationship in the face of societal opposition.

Viewers praised the raw chemistry between Triptii and Siddhant, with one fan saying, “Ah, finally old Tripti is back,” and highlighting the trailer’s emotional resonance.

However, several netizens raised eyebrows over the use of brownface on Siddhant’s character to depict caste, calling it tone‑deaf and unnecessary.

‘Dhadak 2’ is a sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak, and a Hindi remake of the Tamil cult film Pariyerum Perumal (2018), known for its bold depiction of caste oppression.

Rahul Badwelkar and Shazia Iqbal have written the adapted story, screenplay, and dialogue.

Alongside Triptii and Siddhant, the film features a strong ensemble: Vipin Sharma, Manjiri Pupala, Deeksha Joshi, Priyank Tiwari, Amit Jaat, Mayank Khanna, and Ashwant Lodhi.

If you loved the trailer, mark your calendars for 'Dhadak 2'.
