Astronomers have found an intriguing exoplanet known as TOI-700 e that’s orbiting a star about 100 light-years away in the habitable zone. This Earth-sized planet was discovered by NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, and offers a unique chance to learn about conditions that could allow liquid water to exist. The discovery is an important step in the attempt to find signs of life in planetary systems outside our own, and provides new clues to planetary system architectures.
