New Team Qatar Volunteers Platform opens opportunities across key upcoming competitions to engage community in Qatar’s sports event delivery.

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has launched a dedicated Team Qatar Volunteers Platform aimed at connecting volunteers with roles supporting major sporting events and championships across the country.

The initiative, announced on Monday, February 2, is designed to strengthen community involvement and streamline volunteer recruitment and deployment for sports events scheduled through the end of the decade.

Sporting events now tapping into the platform include the QOC Half Marathon 2026, the 4th Gulf Games 2026, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship 2029, and the Doha 2030 Asian Games, representing a significant range of local, regional and international competitions.

The new platform simplifies the way volunteers register, maintain their profiles and are assigned roles across events, creating an “integrated volunteer ecosystem” for Qatar’s growing sports calendar. Volunteers can be involved in field operations, registration support, route guidance, equipment distribution, medical and safety assistance, logistics and participant engagement.

Officials say the aim is not only to fill event support roles but also to foster a culture of volunteerism that aligns with Qatar’s broader vision for sport participation and community contribution. The platform provides a centralised system to manage volunteer data, match skills to task needs and ensure a smooth experience for both volunteers and event organisers.

Volunteers registering with the Team Qatar platform (via qocvolunteer.olympic.qa) can sign up for a variety of upcoming events that span community celebrations, elite sport competitions and international championships. From grassroots engagement at national-level races to supporting large-scale global tournaments, roles are structured to offer meaningful experience and practical involvement in delivering world-class sporting events in Qatar.

Organisers have highlighted that volunteer involvement is critical in ensuring these events run safely and effectively, enhancing the experiences of athletes, spectators and participants alike. Through the platform, volunteers may receive training, official recognition and professional development opportunities that contribute to long-term engagement in the sports sector.

The launch of the volunteering platform reinforces Qatar’s strategy to build an active and inclusive sports culture, advancing community participation while supporting operational excellence for a packed events calendar over the next decade, from local running races to large-scale global competitions.

As interest grows in sports volunteering across the region, the Qatar Olympic Committee’s new platform aims to serve as a model for how structured, technology-enabled recruitment can enhance both event delivery and community engagement across multiple levels of sport.

Volunteers eager to contribute can now register and explore available opportunities through the official Team Qatar Volunteer Platform online.
