The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is being covered by more than 17,000 media professionals, who are utilizing the many facilities set up by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC).

The center of operations, the Host Country Media Centre (HCMC), in Msheireb Downtown Doha, is provided with workstations, technical assistance, broadcast studios, as well as food and beverage options.

The Host Country Media Centre is a focal point for the tens of thousands of media professionals covering Qatar 2022, according to Fatma Al Nuaimi, Executive Director, Communications & Media, SC. Media outlets are well-equipped to cover the match and Qatar is the host nation. Additionally, we regularly conduct press conferences and support tournament stakeholders in speaking with the media directly.

The HCMC is strategically in the heart of Doha, just steps away from the Msheireb metro station and connected to important locations such as stadiums and the FIFA Fan Festival via shuttle buses. It is also close to the Souq Waqif and the Doha Corniche, two places that are particularly well-liked by the tens of thousands of tournament attendees.

The SC has established studio clusters at Souq Waqif and the Doha Corniche that broadcasters can use in addition to the resources offered at the HCMC. The studios, which were developed in collaboration with the Associated Press, are open 24 hours a day for broadcasters who want to record live from those locations.

Al Nuaimi stated, "Our purpose was to offer the finest services to everyone traveling to Qatar for this historic tournament." The first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and the Arab world sparked enormous attention from the world's media, including numerous social media influencers.

In addition to offering top-notch facilities, the SC is collaborating closely with stakeholders to make it easier for journalists to tour infrastructure projects and cultural destinations and conduct media interviews with them.

According to Al Nuaimi, "Our stakeholders have played a key role in helping Qatar deliver the tournament, and we are proud to showcase their work to the thousands of media in the country for the World Cup." This includes facilitating visits to important locations, setting up interviews, and hosting press conferences. We are thrilled to tell the rest of the world about Qatar 2022 because it is a nation's story.

For media support, the SC also created the Qatar Media Portal (QMP). The QMP streamlines accreditation and access requests and offers a variety of content, including images and videos, concerning topics and human-interest tales in the host country.

Sustainability was a consideration when building the HCMC. The venue includes water-efficient fixtures and LED lighting, as well as furniture that was once employed in stadium locations. At the location, plastic-reduction tactics are also in use.
