Another season, another Salah stat to drop jaws. Mohamed Salah has officially been named the Premier League Player of the Season—for the second time—after delivering a jaw-dropping run of goals, assists, and pure magic in Liverpool's title-winning campaign.
With 28 goals and 18 assists under his belt, the Egyptian forward helped lead Liverpool to the Premier League title with four games to spare—a feat that had Anfield buzzing long before the final whistle of the season.
Already a winner of the same award back in 2017–18, Salah now joins a legendary lineup of two-time recipients: Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne. Not bad company.
And he’s not done yet.
Heading into the final matchday against Crystal Palace, Salah is five goals ahead of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, making him the top contender for the Golden Boot. If he holds on, he could become the first player ever to clinch the Golden Boot, Golden Playmaker, and Player of the Season all in one go.
Oh, and let’s not forget—46 goal involvements in a 38-game season. That’s more than any other player in Premier League history for that format. If he gets just two more, he’ll shatter the all-time single-season record (47) currently shared by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, both of whom hit their totals during the old 42-game era.
On top of all that, Salah was also named Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year earlier this month—for the third time. Iconic much?
As Liverpool wraps up a season to remember, one thing’s for sure: Mo Salah’s still very much that guy.
