Qatar's United Development Company (UDC) revealed that a fire incident at Gewan Island was successfully contained on Wednesday morning, Apr. 24.

The announcement came after a video went viral showing smoke rising from Gewan Island.
UDC took to their social media and said, "A minor fire incident was reported on Gewan Island during contractor operations. The Civil Defense immediately contained the fire with no notable injuries."

The Civil Defense of the Ministry of Interior simultaneously shared on social media that a fire at a building under construction was controlled and there were no casualties.
