French-Palestinian EU Parliament member, Rima Hassan, and five other volunteers from Freedom Flotilla's Madleen were deported from Israel on Thursday, June 12, the Israeli foreign ministry confirmed.

The Israeli human rights group Adalah reported that two volunteers remained in Israeli custody and will be deported on Friday, June 13.

Other than Hassan, Mark van Rennes from the Netherlands, Suayb Ordu from Türkiye, Yasemin Acar from Germany, Thiago Avila from Brazil, and Reva Viard from France were deported on Thursday.

The remaining two volunteers are Pascal Maurieras and journalist Yanis Mhamdi, who are both French nationals. They are in custody at Givon prison and will be deported Friday afternoon, according to Adalah.

Before the deportation of these six volunteers, the human rights organization said, "While in custody, volunteers were subjected to mistreatment, punitive measures, and aggressive treatment, and two volunteers were held for some period of time in solitary confinement."

The Israeli foreign ministry previously emphasized that if these volunteers refused to sign deportation papers, they would face Israeli judicial proceedings, according to Israeli law.
