Authorities warn that operating or launching drones violates safety directives and may lead to legal action.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has arrested five individuals for operating drones in violation of a nationwide ban, authorities announced as the country continues to enforce heightened safety measures.

The arrests were carried out by the relevant authorities after the individuals were found using unmanned aerial vehicles despite a directive prohibiting the use, operation, or launching of drones across the country under the current conditions.

According to the ministry, the suspects have been referred to the competent authorities for further legal procedures in accordance with established regulations.

Officials reiterated that the drone ban applies to all types, sizes, and technologies of drones and remains in effect across all regions of Qatar until further notice. The directive covers citizens, residents, visitors, government entities, semi-government bodies, companies, and institutions.

The Ministry of Interior said the measure was introduced to enhance public safety and protect the community, particularly during the current security situation in the region.

Authorities warned that any attempt to operate, launch, or facilitate the use of drones during the ban constitutes a clear violation and may lead to legal accountability. The ministry also stressed that it will not hesitate to take the necessary legal action against those who disregard the directive.

Residents and visitors have been urged to comply with official regulations and follow instructions issued by authorities to ensure public safety and security.
