Qatari residents can enjoy a number of open-air movies this weekend at the West Bay Beach screened by the Doha Film Institute (DFI).

DFI’s ‘Cinema by the Sea’ will be held every Friday on Doha's shores starting this weekend.

Tickets are priced at QR30 for adults, while children under 12 years old can enter for free. 

The animated Disney classic 'Rio' (2011) by Carlos Saldanha will be shown on April 28th.

Showing on May 5th, is the Made in Qatar: Short Films Program featuring works from local filmmakers, including Emsahar by Hassan Al Jahni, Hope by Abdulla Al Janahi, Yahoota by Latifa Al Darwish, Khurshid by Mazen Shafea, and Al-Johara by Nora Al Subai.

On May 12th, the Japanese fantasy-adventure movie Ponyo (2008) by Hayao Miyazaki will be screened at 7 pm.
