In a powerful demonstration of Gulf unity, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Doha on Wednesday, 10 September, just one day after an Israeli airstrike targeted Hamas officials in the Qatari capital.
His unscheduled visit underscores a strong regional response to the attack, which was widely condemned as a breach of sovereignty.
Upon arrival, Sheikh Mohamed was warmly received by Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan. In their subsequent meeting, the UAE President reaffirmed unwavering solidarity with Qatar, voicing support for all Qatari measures to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.

He described the Israeli strike as a clear violation of international law, a dangerous act that threatens regional stability and undermines prospects for peace. Sheikh Mohamed also praised Sheikh Tamim’s continued efforts to mediate peace in an increasingly volatile region.
Earlier, during a phone call on 9 September 2025, the UAE President had already expressed condemnation of what he called a “blatant attack,” echoing similar sentiments. He firmly rejected aggression that undermines regional security and reiterated the UAE’s standing with Qatar in defending its sovereignty.

This visit forms part of a broader wave of high-level regional fact-finding and solidarity missions. Alongside the UAE President, Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are also set to visit Doha, actions collectively viewed as coordinated shows of support for Qatar in response to the Israeli strike.
The attack on Doha, aimed at halting ceasefire negotiations involving Hamas leadership, sparked shock and widespread condemnation across the Middle East and beyond.
