McLaren's F1 driver, Oscar Piastri, won the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sakhir International Circuit on Sunday, Apr. 13, which is his second win of the season and his team's first win in Bahrain.
Piastri was rarely challenged during the race, except for when the safety car was deployed in lap 32, allowing Mercedes' George Russell to lead the race. Nonetheless, Piastri soon took over and snatched the victory from Russell, who came second.
The McLaren driver teammate, Lando Norris, came third and continues to be on top of the driver rankings. Piastri's victory brought him to the second position in the drivers' rankings.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc came in fourth, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton came in fifth. The reigning F1 world champion, Max Verstappen, only managed to secure sixth position in the race.
Williams's Carlos Sainz found himself battling Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda, but after exiting turn 1, lost his rear and collided with Sainz' vehicle.
The incident caused damage to the Williams' car, not allowing Sainz to complete the race.
The next Grand Prix is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Apr. 20.
