The mascot was named " La’eeb ", and it was revealed on the sidelines of the final draw ceremony for the tournament on Friday evening, April 1, 2022, in Doha.

This unique character has been accustomed to watching the World Cup tournaments throughout history and interacting with its most prominent moments. it also has a spirit of adventure, exploration, and assistance. At first glance, it appears to have Gulf features by wearing "Ghutra" on the head, in addition to the Arabic name.
Khaled Ali Al-Mawlawi, Deputy Director-General of Marketing, Communication, and Tournament Experience at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, expressed his happiness to announce the official mascot for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is of special importance, as it is the first edition of the World Cup in the Arab world and the Middle East.
Al-Mawlawi emphasized that " La’eeb " will appeal to fans from all over the world, because it symbolizes a cheerful personality that brings joy and happiness to everyone, and there is no doubt that the mascot will play an important role in enhancing the enthusiasm and interaction of fans of all ages before and during the tournament, which is a football festival inclusive of various cultures. from around the world and celebrates people’s passion for football.”
The committee explained that the personality of " La’eeb " is characterized by the spirit of eternal youth and inspires everyone to build and enhance self-confidence while approaching the realization of the World Cup dream.
