Saudia and Kuwait Airlines Resume Operations at Hamad International Airport
Major carriers Saudia and Kuwait Airlines return to Doha's hub, expanding the airport's recovering flight network.
Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced the resumption of services for two additional major carriers, marking another significant step in the airport's operational recovery. As of May 6, 2026, the airport confirmed that Saudia has restarted its flight services effective May 5, while Kuwait Airlines is set to resume operations on May 7.
The return of these airlines follows a coordinated effort between the airport authority and airline partners to restore connectivity in line with directives from the appropriate regulatory bodies. HIA emphasized that flight operations are proceeding smoothly under the supervision of relevant authorities, ensuring safety and efficiency for all travelers.
Passengers traveling with Saudia or Kuwait Airlines are advised to contact their respective carriers directly to confirm specific flight schedules and booking details. The airport noted that while the resumption dates are confirmed, individual flight times may vary and should be verified through official airline channels.
This latest update adds to a steady stream of airline returns at HIA throughout April and May. Since late April, the airport has welcomed back a diverse range of carriers, including flydubai, Air Arabia, Oman Air, Royal Jordanian, and major Asian and African airlines such as Ethiopian Airlines and Air India.
The schedule indicates a robust recovery trajectory, with further resumptions planned for SriLankan Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Kam Air, and Flynas later in May, followed by Royal Air Maroc in July.
The phased return of these airlines underscores Hamad International Airport's role as a critical global transit hub, gradually restoring its network to pre-disruption levels. As more carriers join the roster, connectivity between Qatar and the wider Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe continues to strengthen.
