AFC confirms Qatar and Saudi Arabia as venues for centralized playoff groups in October 2025.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar will host the fourth round—officially dubbed AFC Asian Qualifiers™: Road to 26 Playoffs—set for October 8–14.

The six national sides that placed third or fourth in the third qualifying round – Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Indonesia, and the UAE – will be split into two centralised groups of three and compete in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Group winners earn direct entry to the expanded 48‑team FIFA World Cup 2026. Runners‑up will proceed to the playoffs in November, with victors advancing to an intercontinental playoff in March for the final World Cup slots.

The fourth round of the draw is scheduled on July 17 in Osaka, Japan.
