I have observed how some women during quiet conversations would turn their attention to men a bit older without screaming it off but it would be reflected in little things. As though they are attracted to stability that is not accompanied by a lot of ado the type that is manifested in everyday interactions. You observe it when there is a discussion of plans or past decisions, where one party is a better listener, one is a less urgent respondent. It creates a sort of rhythm which is very homely, almost like a norm, even though it is not necessarily spelled out. At times it is forgotten and at times it is simmering somewhere in the background.
