Pope Francis: Convert Pope Mobile to Health Clinic for Gaza

  • Publish date: since 2 day

It was the final wish of the late pontiff.

According to the official Vatican media report, one of Pope Francis's popemobiles will be converted into a mobile health clinic for children in Gaza, following the late pontiff's final wishes.

The vehicle is being equipped with diagnostic and emergency equipment to help child patients in Gaza, where the Israeli military operations have destroyed health services and facilities.

The mobile clinic will provide vaccinations, suture kits, rapid tests for infections, and other supplies.

Pope Francis passed away in April, but before his death, he entrusted this project to the Catholic aid organisation Caritas Jerusalem.

The late pontiff had several popemobiles, and the one being sent to Gaza was used to visit Israel and the Palestinian territories in 2014.

The Vatican revealed that Pope Francis remained in contact with the clergy in Gaza even during his final months, often receiving first-hand accounts of conditions in the enclave.
