Most individuals are surprised to learn the extent to which they can have their personal information appearing on the internet searches. Home addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers may be found in the public directories or old web pages. To assist in this, Google developed a free-service tool which allows individuals to request Google to remove sensitive data available in search results. It does not remove the content off the internet, but it may make it less obvious and allow the users to feel more secure on the internet.
