China Grants Visa-Free Access to All GCC Nations
Strengthening China-GCC Relations Through Enhanced Travel Opportunities
China has officially extended visa-free entry to all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, marking a significant step in bolstering diplomatic and economic relations with the Gulf region.
This policy allows citizens of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Qatar to enter China without a visa for short-term stays.
Starting June 9, 2025, ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain can enter China visa-free for up to 30 days for purposes such as business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchanges, and transit.
This trial policy will remain in effect until June 8, 2026. The UAE and Qatar have enjoyed mutual visa exemption agreements with China since 2018, and this new policy brings all GCC nations under the same visa-free umbrella.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that this initiative aims to facilitate people-to-people exchanges and deepen cooperation between China and the GCC countries.
The move is expected to boost tourism, business interactions, and cultural ties, reflecting China's commitment to strengthening its relationships with Gulf nations.
