Burial Timings to be Readjusted in Qatar Due to Summer Season
Updated burial schedules to ensure dignity, safety, and efficiency amidst Qatar's summer heat.
The Ministry of Municipality, in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, has announced adjusted burial timings for the summer period (June–September) to better organize cemetery operations amid rising temperatures.

New Burial Schedule
To ensure the dignity and safety of burial procedures, the following timings will be implemented:
- Morning Period: From sunrise until 8:00 AM
- Evening Period: After Maghrib or Isha prayers
Additionally, burial procedures scheduled after Dhuhr and Asr prayers will be postponed to the specified evening times.
Ensuring Dignity and Comfort
The adjustment aims to protect workers and families from the extreme heat during peak summer months while maintaining respectful and timely burial practices. Cemeteries will operate under these revised timings to ensure smooth and efficient services for the community.
The ministries have urged the public to plan burials accordingly and cooperate with cemetery authorities to facilitate the process. This initiative reflects Qatar’s commitment to balancing operational efficiency with cultural and religious sensitivities during the summer season.
