Art Basel to Launch MENA Edition in Doha
Art Basel heads to Doha: The iconic art fair announces its first Middle East edition, showcasing global and regional creativity in February 2026.
Art Basel is set to debut its first Middle East edition in Doha, Qatar, in February 2026, marking a significant expansion into the MENA region's art scene.
This new fair, Art Basel Qatar, is a collaborative effort between Art Basel's parent company, MCH Group, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), and QC+, the commercial arm of Qatar Museums.
The inaugural event will be hosted at the M7 creative hub and the Doha Design District in Msheireb, positioning the fair in the heart of Doha's cultural landscape.
International and regional galleries are expected to participate, showcasing modern and contemporary art from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and beyond.
Art Basel Qatar aims to provide a platform for artists, collectors, and cultural leaders, fostering connections and collaborations within the region and globally.
The fair will be the fifth premier event in the Art Basel portfolio alongside Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong, and Paris.
This initiative aligns with Qatar's ongoing efforts to position itself as a global arts hub, building upon two decades of investment in cultural infrastructure under the leadership of Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums.
