The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced the fixtures for the preliminary round of the Amir Cup 2025–26, with knockout matches set to begin on January 10, 2026.

Eight teams will compete in a single-elimination format, with four sides advancing to the round of 16 of Qatar’s premier domestic cup competition.

The opening matches will be staged across four venues on the same day. Al Sailiya face Muaither at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, while Al Markhiya take on Mesaimeer at Thani bin Jassim Stadium. At Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, Al Khartiyat meet Al Bidda, and Al Waab play Lusail at Hamad Al Kabeer Stadium.

According to the QFA, all ties in the preliminary round will follow standard knockout regulations. If matches are level at the end of normal time, they will proceed to 30 minutes of extra time, followed by a penalty shootout if a winner is still not decided.

The preliminary round pairings are determined by the final standings of the 2024–25 Qatari Second Division. Al Sailiya, Al Markhiya, Al Khartiyat and Al Waab finished in the top four positions, while Lusail, Al Bidda, Mesaimeer and Muaither placed fifth through eighth, respectively.

The Amir Cup is regarded as one of Qatar’s most prestigious football tournaments, bringing together clubs from across divisions. The preliminary stage offers Second Division sides an early opportunity to secure a place among the top teams in the round of 16 and progress further in the competition.
