All branches of everyone's favorite Egyptian dessert shop chain, B.Laban, have shut down in Egypt.
The dessert chain announced on Friday, April 18, that they have closed all their branches in the country.
"All operations of Blaban Company have completely ceased within the Arab Republic of Egypt. All 110 of our branches have been shut down, along with our factories and affiliated facilities, which together employed 25,000 Egyptians," the company wrote in an open letter to the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, the Cabinet and concerned state authorities.
The company also said, "We have not been granted clarity regarding the reasons behind these measures or the mechanisms for resolution, leaving the company and its employees in a state of total paralysis."
Not only will the halt in their domestic activity affect their local market, but it will also affect their international operations and endanger their presence in the Middle Eastern market.
