For a long time we've been hearing all these hopeful predictions that babies born today will easily live to be a hundred or even way longer than that right. But some new research is throwing some cold water on that idea and it's kind of a wake-up call. A study looked at lifespan data from ten wealthy countries and it found that the rapid progress we made in life expectancy is really slowing down now. It turns out that getting people to live past 90 is incredibly hard because you run up against the natural biological limits of aging which is a process we haven't stopped yet so it seems reaching 100 is still going to be pretty rare for most people based on current trends.
